U12 rugby kicking drills
7 kicking and catching drills a U12 squad is allowed to do, each with the set up, the coaching points and what it looks like from the touchline when it is going wrong.

What U12 is allowed here
Kicking and catching arrives at U11, so a U12 squad has had it for a while. Nothing below that grade sees any of these, in the app or on this site. What U12 rugby allows is the rest of it.
The drills
Under each one is what it looks like when that drill is going wrong.
- High ball hands 6 min · 4 to 24 players · 15 x 10 m Hands coming up only once the ball has started dropping
- Punt to your partner 8 min · 4 to 24 players · 20 m channel The ball tossed upwards out of the hands before the foot arrives
- Grubber into the space 9 min · 6 to 18 players · 25 x 15 m The ball bouncing up over the chaser's head
- Take the high ball 10 min · 6 to 18 players · 20 x 15 m Arms straight up with the elbows locked, so the ball bounces off
