Two lap and in

Setting it up
A rectangle. Pairs with a ball between them.
How it runs
Two laps passing back and forward as you jog. Then in to the middle for ten passes each side standing still, then two more laps at three quarter pace. Simple, but it means their hands are warm before you ask them to do anything hard with them.
What to watch for
- Pass in front so they never break stride
- Late hands. Do not telegraph it
- Both hands on the ball before you pass it on
Make it easier
- One lap
- Walk the first lap
Make it harder
- Threes instead of pairs so there is a proper line to move
What it looks like when it is going wrong
What you can see from the touchline, then the one thing to say about it.
- Passing behind the receiver so they have to check
- In front of them. They should never slow down
- The pass telegraphed early with the arms out
- Late hands. Hold it until the last moment

The grades that can do it
What U11 rugby allows is the rule this sits under. Regulation 15 is reissued every summer, so the RFU's own rules of play are the ones to read for this season rather than a copy on somebody else's website. Ours included. Read against the RFU's 2026/27 appendices in August 2026.
