About Equal Play
One volunteer coach, for the age group they were already coaching on a Sunday. There is no company behind it, no funding and nothing sold on. This page says where the rugby in it comes from, how it gets checked and how to tell us we have got something wrong.
Where the rugby comes from
Every age grade claim here is written from the RFU's own rules of play, one appendix per grade under Regulation 15. Read against the RFU's 2026/27 appendices in August 2026. The wording here is ours, because theirs is licensed and reproducing it would put a stale copy on the internet. Every claim links out to the appendix it came from, so you can check any of it in two taps.
Regulation 15 is reissued every summer. That is why the date above is on this page at all: a rules claim with no date on it is one nobody can tell has gone stale. The build fails if that date goes more than a season old, which is a reminder that does not depend on anybody remembering.
Equal Play is not affiliated with the RFU. Regulation 15 is theirs. We link to it rather than reproduce it, so you always get the current season's version. If a referee on Sunday says something different to this site, they are right.
What it will not do
- Store anything about a child. No names, no dates of birth, no photographs, no medical information, no attendance register. Player names you type into match day stay in the browser on your phone. See the privacy notice.
- Show a drill to a grade that cannot do it. Tackling from U9, rucks and scrums from U10, no lineout at any minis grade. That is enforced by tests rather than by anybody remembering, because getting it wrong at a session is a safety matter rather than a preference.
- Charge for match day. Free for good, with no account.
Tell us we have got something wrong
Especially the rugby. If a drill is wrong for its grade, a rules page is out of date or a coaching point makes you wince, say so: hello@equalplay.io. Corrections from referees and age grade coaches are the most useful post this project gets.
